I recently stayed at the New York Marriott East Side for a night, and while the location is a major plus, the experience was somewhat mixed. The room was pretty tiny and needed a bit of freshening up. The service was decent but not exactly stellar, and I found the dining options pretty standard for a hotel. Overall, it's a decent choice if you're just looking for a spot to crash in the city, but I expected a bit more from a Marriott.
Rooms
5.0
The room was clean and had basic amenities like a mini fridge and coffee maker, but it was super small and desperately needs some updates.
Service
5.0
The staff was nice enough, but sometimes seemed bothered by requests, especially when I needed to switch rooms due to a non-working AC.
Location
8.0
The location was really good, super close to Grand Central and tons of dining options; just a 15-minute walk to Times Square.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was typical hotel fare — a bit chaotic with tourists, and honestly, not the best quality for what I’d expected.
Facilities
6.0
They had standard amenities like room service and dry cleaning, but nothing that stood out as amazing.

The New York Marriott East Side has an unbeatable location near attractions like Times Square and Central Park, which was definitely the highlight of my stay. However, the room was on the smaller side and felt somewhat dated, leaving me wanting a bit more comfort for the price I paid.
Rooms
6.0
The room was small and dated, with limited natural light and noise from the elevator. While it had a small fridge and coffee maker, the bathroom could use better water pressure.
Service
5.0
Check-in was slow and the front desk staff could have been friendlier. However, there was a positive touch when they helped return a piece of jewelry my wife left behind.
Location
10.0
The location was fantastic, making it easy for me to explore nearby sites and shopping areas. definitely a major selling point.
Dining
5.0
I didn't dine at the hotel, but there are on-site options for those interested, along with many nearby spots for breakfast.

My stay at the New York Marriott East Side had its highlights, like the well-sized room and great location, but overall, I was quite disappointed with the hotel's condition and cleanliness. The decor felt dated, and the amenities seemed lacking, making me question whether I'd return in the future.
Rooms
6.0
The room was adequate in size, but unfortunately, it was not well-maintained and felt drab and dirty. I noticed the carpet wasn't vacuumed properly and even found food crumbs on the floor, which was quite off-putting. The mattress and bedding also seemed old.
Service
Location
9.0
The location was ideal, with numerous dining options nearby and easy access to the subway. I loved being close to numerous attractions, including Central Park and Times Square. It certainly made my stay much more enjoyable.
Dining
6.0
While the breakfast was standard with scrambled eggs and bacon, seating in the lounge was limited during peak hours which made it difficult to enjoy the meal comfortably.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offered basic amenities like room service and dry cleaning, but nothing too special stood out. I expected more considering the Marriott name.

I had high expectations for my stay at the New York Marriott East Side, especially given its location and price point, but it fell short. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore NYC, but the hotel is in desperate need of some renovating. While the staff were friendly and the rooms spacious, the overall upkeep left a lot to be desired.
Rooms
6.0
My room was a decent size and clean enough, but it felt tired and neglected. The carpet had not been vacuumed recently, and I noticed a couple of food pieces on the floor. The air conditioning was outdated and noisy, which was unsettling during the night. Plus, the towels were thin and looked worn, and the bed felt too soft for my taste.
Service
7.0
I found the service to be efficient and friendly, which was a bright spot during my stay. The staff were helpful when I had questions, but the hotel seemed to be operating with outdated systems, which made some aspects less smooth than they could have been.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is one of its biggest assets. I appreciated being close to Grand Central Station and the UN, which made getting around the city so much easier. For anyone wanting to explore New York, this spot is ideal.
Dining
7.0
I opted for breakfast outside, as the hotel breakfast seemed pretty standard. However, the service from all the staff was amazing, making the dining experience pleasant when I did interact with them.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers basic facilities like room service and dry cleaning, but I felt like there were opportunities for enhancement, especially considering the age of the hotel. The lack of modern amenities, like USB charging ports, added to the outdated feel.

My stay at the New York Marriott East Side had its ups and downs. The location is fantastic, making it easy to get to Times Square and Central Park. However, I faced several issues, like the room's noise and malfunctioning amenities. While the staff was quite kind, the service felt a bit unprofessional at times.
Rooms
5.0
I had a room close to the elevators, which meant I heard a lot of noise from other guests. It wasn’t ideal for a relaxing getaway. The room did have two double beds and a separate sofa bed area, which was nice, but overall, it was not as soundproof as I hoped.
Service
5.0
The staff was generally nice, especially towards my grandchild. However, I found the front desk to be unresponsive at times, which was frustrating when I had specific inquiries. Overall, the service could use some improvement.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in midtown Manhattan, right by the metro and close to shopping streets, restaurants, and theaters. It’s a prime location for exploring the city, which I really appreciated.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were decent, with a nice variety available. I enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, which had a lovely atmosphere, but there was no room service, which would have been nice.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had basic facilities like dry cleaning but sadly none of the luxury touches like room service. I did experience some inconveniences during my stay, but the quick elevator service was a plus.
